New founding of the Albanian sports ambassador

The honouring of the Albanian sports ambassadors is held as part of the annual celebrations. The aim is to improve the country’s image through sport. The press conference announced the nominees on 04.09.2018 at 10.00 am in the Hotel Diplomat.

Albanian Sports Ambassador (ASA) honours Albanian athletes and coaches for the first time for their outstanding achievements abroad. The nominees of the respective categories were announced at the press conference on 04.09.2018. Albanian athletes have proven their skills all over the world. The awards are linked to prize money for social projects, with a focus on development work with children and young people. The aim of the ASA is to inspire people to take action through sport and to change the world positively.

Connectedness through sport means that different levels of society are involved and come closer together.

During the press conference the nominees for all categories were announced in a live broadcast on Supersport1. The founders of the Albanian Sports Ambassador Roland Bischof and Luar Arani explained the idea and the future direction of the ASA. The initiator of the German Football Ambassador has assured his support for this project through his organisational network and knows how important the cooperation between Germany and Albania is. The first award ceremony will take place in Tirana on September 28, 2018. Renowned personalities from the worlds of sport, politics and culture were delighted to support this initiative.

Roland Bischof is one of the most renowned experts on the market for sponsoring, marketing and testimonials. As a German entrepreneur, he is also a speaker, author, founder of the Initiative Deutscher Fußball Botschafter (German Football Ambassador Initiative) and Vice President of the FASPO (Association for Sponsoring in Germany, Austria and Switzerland) as well as a member of the jury for the Kulturmarken Award. At the start of his self-employment in 1986, sponsoring hardly existed in any noteworthy form. Until the EXPO ´92 in Seville, where he headed the VIP area of the German Pavilion, he concentrated mainly on national sponsoring, marketing and the organisation of sports and music projects. This was followed by several international engagements, which to this day allow him to draw on a wealth of experience from almost a hundred countries.

He has also been consulting athletes for over twenty years. His first client was the incumbent European football champion Thomas Helmer, who still trusts him today.
